Election time

Today, I submitted my official ballot and voted in this years election! It's been a good experience to get more involved in the issues this year. Voting makes me feel like in a small way I contributed to the way our government is run AND it makes me a little bit prouder to be an American. Downside: Voting absentee mean you get no cool sticker, sad.

Proposition 8

I couldn't figure out how to post this video directly on our blog, but please check out this youtube video about Prop 8. It is very clear about what Prop 8 is and the possible implications if it is not passed. Take the time to educate yourself about Prop 8 and register to vote!

An Update for Aunt Karla!

Today is the day we officially became boyfriend/girlfriend two years ago. Yeah, it may be a little pathetic how we keep track of every significant date in our dating and courtship. But this was a particularly funny moment for Skyler, he got really nervous and kept mumbling stuff. I like to bring it up because he doesn't like talking about it.

A couple weeks ago, we went up to Sundance for the afternoon and hiked to Stewart Falls. It is so pretty right now with the leaves changing colors and everything. This is becoming an annual trip for the Becks. We have greatly enjoyed our time in Utah and love the changing seasons.

Kasey and Emily got married on Saturday at the Provo Temple!

Lots of family came to town. We enjoyed catching up with everyone.

Where is Kayla? For ours and Carrie/Bret's wedding Kayla was hiding in the car somewhere. It's become a family joke but for Kasey and Emily's car we made them think Kayla was in there when she was just hiding behind everyone else. This is them looking in the trunk for the second time! :)

After the wedding, we took family pictures at Canyon Glen Park which is where I proposed to Rebekah. So we re-enacted the event while Jamie (our favorite photographer) took our picture.

Life right now is all about researching grad schools, looking for Skyler's internship this summer, midterms, college football, and we're going to IOWA this weekend. Life is good when you have someone to share it with.

Dart Score: Rebekah - 7522, Skyler - 7081

This and That...

First day of school picture. I even brought an apple for my teacher!

I failed to mention that some kind soul (or souls) heart attacked our door for our anniversary! It was so fun to come home to it. Thank you!

We had some friends over for a Brazil Night! It was pretty cheesy, but they were all good sports through the trivia game. We celebrated with some yummy Garoto!

I finally finished a project I've been wanting to do! These are the flowers from when Skyler proposed, they are now displayed proudly in a shadowbox on our wall. This picture's for you Mom, aren't you proud?
I've been trying to improve my musical talent by taking a piano class this semester. I think Skyler wanted to be more musical himself and has been practicing his ukulele a lot lately. We got a family talent show act in the making -- Skyler plays the chords and I do the strumming, it's fun!

Aside from that, we have been just doing the student thing. It's been a really good semester so far. We are both a little stressed with finding grad schools and work opportunities. But, it's a good stress! There's more BYU football coming this weekend, Happy Homecoming Week and Go Cougs!!
